Acknowledgement of Country

The land owns us.

Down to Earth would like to acknowledge the First Nations People of Australia as the past, present and emerging traditional custodians of the land of which our initiatives take place. We would specifically like to pay our respects to the language groups across Southeast Queensland, the Jagera/Yuggera, Turrbal and Yugambeh people.

  • Partnered Service

When possible, Down to Earth supports First Nations communities through our various altruistic initiatives. However, Down to Earth is mindful to consult with Indigenous Elders within the community beforehand to identify how the organisation can best assist.

  • Deebing Creek Mission

Much of this take place at the Deebing Creek Mission where a group of Yuggera/Jagera Ugarapul people have been fighting land development on the heritage listed site in recent years. Down to Earth seeks to show our upmost support for their cause in anyway possible.

Down to Earth recognises and intend to honour their deep, spiritual connection to country as this relationship is fundamental to aspects of their culture and identity; including but are not limited to spirituality, language, family connections, law and customs.
